I-95 Lane Closures, Ramp Restrictions Scheduled Next Week in Philadelphia

Motorists using Interstate 95 in Philadelphia will encounter overnight lane

closures and daytime lane restrictions on several ramps for construction
related activities, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced

today.

The schedule is:

• Sunday, December 17, through Saturday, December 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane closures will be in place periodically on the northbound on- and
off-ramps
and on the southbound off-ramp at the Cottman Avenue Interchange for
construction activities;

• Monday, December 18, through Friday, December 22, from 10:00 PM to 5:00
AM
the following morning, the left lane will be closed periodically on
northbound
I-95 between the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street
interchanges for soil borings in the median; and

• Monday, December 18, through Friday, December 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
lane restrictions will be in place periodically on the northbound I-95 ramp
to
Aramingo Avenue and on the ramp from the Betsy Ross Bridge to I-95 south
for
soil borings.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 through the
work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The work at the Cottman Avenue ramps is part of the $212 million
reconstruction
and widening of I-95 at the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) Interchange. The soil

borings are part of the advance engineering activities related to upcoming
construction at the I-95 Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue and Bridge
Street
interchanges.
