I-95 Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week in Philadelphia

I-95 Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week in Philadelphia

2/9/2018-KING OF PRUSSIA

Motorists on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia will encounter nighttime lane
restrictions next week for construction-related activities between the
Bridge
Street and Allegheny Avenue interchanges, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Sunday, February 11, through Friday, February 16, from 10:00 PM to 5:00
AM
the following morning, the left lane will be closed periodically on
northbound
I-95 between the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street
interchanges for soil borings in the median; and

• Wednesday, February 14, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning,
alternating northbound and southbound single lane closures will be in place

between the Allegheny Avenue and Bridge Street interchanges for testing of
a
recently installed electronic message sign and traffic monitoring
equipment.

In addition to the equipment testing on I-95, westbound Woodhaven Road
(Route
63) will be reduced from two lanes to one between U.S 13 (Bristol Pike) and

Knights Road, and a single lane will be closed on northbound and southbound

U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Comly Street and Old Trevose Road in
Bucks
County on Monday, February 12 through Saturday, February 17, from 9:00 AM
to
3:00 PM, for installation of message signs and other traffic monitoring
equipment.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The equipment being installed and tested is among new Intelligent
Transportation Systems (ITS) components being installed along I-95 and
other
regional highways as part of PennDOT's $212 million project to reconstruct
I-95
at the Girard Avenue Interchange. The soil borings are part of the
engineering
that is underway to reconstruction I-95 between Bridge Street and Allegheny

Avenue.
