PennDOT - District 6 News: I-76, I-95, I-676, U.S. 1 Restricted Next Week for Sign and Bridge Inspections, Barrier Repair in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

I-76, I-95, I-676, U.S. 1 Restricted Next Week for Sign and Bridge Inspections, Barrier Repair in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on several state highways in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties including Interstates 76, 95, 676 and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) for bridge inspections, sign inspections and barrier repair, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, February 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on eastbound or westbound I-76 between Montgomery Drive and Girard Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia for sign inspection;
  • Monday, February 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the northbound or southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) express lanes between Rhawn Street and Strahle Street in Philadelphia for bridge inspection;
  • Monday, February 24, and Friday, February 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 202 (Dannehower Memorial Bridge) between U.S. 202 (Dekalb Street) and Main Street in Bridgeport Borough and Norristown, Montgomery County for bridge inspection;
  • Monday, February 24, through Friday, February 28, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the left lane is scheduled to close on eastbound or westbound I-76 between the U.S. 202 and Gulph Mills interchanges in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County for barrier repair;
  • Tuesday, February 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Girard Avenue and Columbus Boulevard interchanges in Philadelphia for bridge inspection;
  • Tuesday, February 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound or southbound I-95 between the Betsy Ross Bridge and Bridge Street interchanges in Philadelphia for bridge inspection;
  • Tuesday, February 25, and Wednesday, February 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on eastbound or westbound I-676 between I-95 and I-76 in Philadelphia for sign inspection;
  • Wednesday, February 26, and Thursday, February 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) near 9th Street in Philadelphia for sign inspection;
  • Wednesday, February 26, and Thursday, February 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on eastbound and westbound I-76 between University Avenue and Passyunk Avenue in Philadelphia for sign inspection;
  • Wednesday, February 26, through Saturday, February 29, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the right lane is scheduled to close on southbound I-95 between Enterprise Avenue and the Philadelphia International Airport Interchange in Philadelphia for bridge inspection;
  • Friday, February 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the I-676 and Girard Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia for bridge inspection;
  • Saturday, February 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 202 (Dannehower Memorial Bridge) between Main Street and U.S. 202 (Dekalb Street) in Norristown and Bridgeport Borough for bridge inspection; and
  • Saturday, February 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 202 (Dannehower Memorial Bridge) between the Route 23 Interchange and Main Street in Bridgeport Borough and Norristown and for bridge inspection.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
