NWS Weather Briefing

Emergency Management Partners and Stakeholders:

 

Attached is the latest weather briefing from the US National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ forecasting a round of showers and a few thunderstorms are likely with threats of heavy rainfall and flooding across the entire region for Monday 4 Jul thru 5 Jul 2016.  The majority of the showers and embedded thunderstorms should occur from Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.  Areas that have repeated showers and thunderstorms will likely see quick rises on streams and creeks, ponding of water on roadways along with the potential for flooding.  Another briefing update will be issued by 5 pm tomorrow.

Chester County Forecasted Conditions:

  • Risk for severe storms Monday afternoon and evening

  • Hazards and Impacts:

    • Hail/Wind

      • Strong winds

      • Hail possible

    • Flooding

      • Heavy downpours possible

      • Localized flooding possible

      • Areas with poor drainage are at higher risk 

         

        Active Watches & Warnings:

    • Currently there are no Watches and Warnings for Chester County
