PennDOT Reopens Interstate 95 in Philadelphia to Commercial Vehicles over
Five Tons

In coordination with law enforcement agencies, the Pennsylvania Department
of
Transportation (PennDOT) today reopened Interstate 95 in Philadelphia to
commercial vehicles weighing more than five tons. The restriction was
lifted
just after 3:00 AM.

In association with the reopening I-95 to commercial trucks over five tons,

PennDOT opened all travel lanes on I-95 north at Exit 13 (Interstate 76
West/Route 291/Valley Forge) and I-95 south at Exit 22 (Interstate 676).

I-95 had been closed between Exit 13 (Interstate 76 West/Route 291/Valley
Forge) and Exit 22 (Interstate 676) to commercial vehicles, motor homes and

recreational trailers weighing more than five tons since Saturday, July 23,
as
part of the security plan for the Democratic National Convention.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.
