I-95 North Exit Ramp at Cottman Avenue Closed at Night Next Week

7/22/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA

The exit ramp from Interstate 95 north to Cottman Avenue (Route 73) will be

closed at night next week as part of the construction to rebuild the
Cottman
Avenue Interchange and reconstruct and widen more than a mile of I-95
approaching the interchange, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
(PennDOT) said today.

On Sunday, July 24, through Friday, July 29, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, the exit ramp will be closed for paving on the
northbound
side of I-95. Motorists will be detoured north on I-95 to the exit at the
Academy Road Interchange, then right on Linden Avenue, and right on State
Road
to Cottman Avenue (Route 73). The work schedule is weather dependent.

Drivers also are reminded commercial vehicles weighing more than five tons
will
be prohibited from traveling on I-95 between Exit 13 (Interstate 76
West/Route
291/Valley Forge) and Exit 22 (Interstate 676) in Philadelphia from
Saturday,
July 23 at 12:00 PM, until midday Friday, July 29.

In addition, the I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramps at the Broad
Street/Route 611 (Exit 17) Interchange in South Philadelphia will be closed
to
all traffic tonight, July 22 at 8:00 PM. The ramps are scheduled to reopen
by
midday Friday, July 29.

The rerouting of commercial vehicles off I-95 and the closure of the I-95
exit
ramps at the Broad Street/Route 611 (Exit 17) Interchange are associated
with
the security for the Democratic National Convention at the Wells Fargo
Center
in South Philadelphia. To assist residents and visitors before and during
the
convention, PennDOT launched www.511PA.com/DNC – a detailed travelers'
website.
