Travel Restrictions in Philadelphia for Bridge Inspections

Travel restrictions are scheduled in Philadelphia for bridge inspections,
the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.

Weather permitting, the work schedule is:

• On Monday, July 18, and Tuesday, July 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the
left
lane will be closed on City Avenue between Interstate 76 and Kelly Drive;
• On Monday, July 18, and Wednesday, July 20, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM the
right
lane will be closed on interstate 76 west between University Avenue and
Interstate 676. The east bound left lane will be closed from 12:00 PM to
3:00
PM; and
• On Wednesday, July 20, and Thursday, July 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
the
left lane will be closed on U.S. 1 south between Broad Street (Route 611)
and
Wissahickon Avenue/Germantown Avenue.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of
the
structures.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and
Android
devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts
accessible
on the 511PA website.
