I-95, I-295 Overnight Lane Closures Next Week for Resurfacing in Bucks County

King of Prussia, PA – Interstate 95 and Interstate 295 motorists will encounter double lane closures in both directions between the Academy Road and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges on Monday, September 10, through Friday, September 14, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, for construction activities on a project to repair and resurface 13 miles of I-95 and I-295 in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County.

The work locations are:
  • Northbound I-95 and eastbound I-295 between the Route 132 (Street Road) and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges for paving; and
  • Westbound I-295 and southbound I-95 between the Route 413 (Bristol) and Academy Road interchanges, for subbase installation.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 and I-295 in the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and rehabilitating existing pavement; performing base repairs; installing new guide rail; repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs; performing minor bridge deck repairs; and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95 and I-295 corridor in Bucks County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed this fall.

James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the $29,633,134 project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.
