The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for our region until Thursday, March 8th at 3:00 A.M. Significant snow accumulation is expected in addition to high winds. The latest update from the National Weather Service indicates that our region can expect 7 - 10 inches of snow (see weather statement at end of this message).

As a result of this forecast the Borough of Hatboro has declared a snow emergency effective at 11 A.M. today. As heavy snow is expected today and overnight, declaring the emergency this morning allows crews to effectively conduct curb-to-curb snow removal operations on designated snow emergency routes where vehicles may normally be parked overnight.

Parking will be prohibited along all snow emergency routes in Hatboro. Vehicles found parked on these streets during a snow emergency are subject to ticketing and towing. The following streets are designated as snow emergency routes:

*Byberry Road
*E. County Line Road
*W. County Line Road
*Horsham Road
*Jacksonville Road
*E. Montgomery Avenue (between N. York Rd. and Jacksonville Rd.).
*W. Moreland Avenue
* E. Moreland Avenue (between York Rd. and Jacksonville Rd.)
*S. Penn Street
*N. Warminster Road
*S. Warminster Road
*N. York Road
*S. York Road

Do not park on these streets. No vehicles may be parked on these streets after 11 A.M. today

During a declared snow emergency, vehicles operating on any streets in the Borough must be equipped with snow rated tires or chains.

If you must travel during this anticipated storm, please do so with extreme caution! High wind conditions are possible, along with blowing and drifting snow.

As a reminder, Borough of Hatboro Ordinance #1005, Chapter 21, Part 3 requires property owners or those in control of a property to clear snow and ice from sidewalks, curb ramps and fire hydrants within 24 hours after the cessation of a storm.

This is a potentially dangerous storm. Please make necessary preparations. Please monitor NOAA All Hazards radio broadcasts for details on this winter storm or visit www.weather.gov for the latest forecasts.
