U.S. 30/Exton Bypass Ramp to U.S. 202 North to Close Next Week for Overhead
Bridge Construction in Chester County

The ramp from eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 in East

Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, will be closed at
night
next week for overhead bridge construction, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, March 19, through Thursday, March 22, the ramp will be reduced to
a
single lane from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, then closed completely until 5:00 AM
the
following morning; and

• Friday, March 23, the ramp will be reduced to a single lane from 8:00 PM
to
10:00 PM, then closed completely until 10:00 AM Saturday, March 24.

Motorists normally using the ramp will be directed to use the Business U.S.
30
exit, turn right on eastbound Business U.S. 30 and right on the ramp to
northbound U.S. 202.

The restrictions will allow the contractor to continue demolition of the
outer
half of the northbound U.S. 202 bridge over the ramp and adjacent Amtrak
rail
lines.

Eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass motorists should remain alert for delays and

slow moving traffic when approaching the work area. All scheduled
activities
are weather dependent.

PennDOT completed repairs and redecking of the inside half of the
northbound
bridge in early February under the first major stage of a $26.4 million
project
to rehabilitate the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak
and
the ramp, and replace the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from U.S.
202
and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass.

Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor
on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
