Bristol Road to Close Weekdays for Pipe Removal in Bucks County

Bristol Road will be closed and detoured weekdays between Route 232 (2nd
Street
Pike) and Churchville Road in Upper Southampton and Northampton townships,
Bucks County, beginning Monday, March 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for pipe

removal. This daytime closure will be in effect through Friday, April 6.

Bristol Road motorists will be directed to use Route 232 (2nd Street Pike),

Route 132 (Street Road) and Churchville Road. Local access will be
maintained
up to the construction zone.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this work
zone
because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor's schedule
is
dependent on the weather.

The work on Bristol Road is part of a project to repair and resurface 12
miles
of state highway in Bucks County.

State highways completed under this resurfacing project include:

• Route 263 (York Road) between County Line Road and Tennyson Drive in
Warminster Township;
• Langhorne-Yardley Road between Stony Hill Road and Route 332
(Yardley-Newtown
Road) in Lower Makefield Township; and
• Route 332 (Jacksonville Road) between County Line Road and Almshouse Road
in
Ivyland Borough and Warminster and Northampton townships.

Additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract
include:

• Bristol Road between Route 232 (2nd Street Pike) and Chinquapin Road in
Upper
Southampton, Northampton and Lower Southampton townships;
• Bristol Road between Chinquapin Road and Route 532 (Buck Road) in Lower
Southampton Township; and
• Bustleton Pike/Churchville Lane between Stump Road and Holland Road in
Upper
Southampton and Northampton townships.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway
surface
and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will
seal
the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc., of Blooming Glen, PA, is the general
contractor on the $4,403,892 project, which is financed with 100 percent
state
funds.
