I-95 South Night Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Soil Boring in
Philadelphia

Periodic lane closures will be in place Sunday, March 18, through Friday,
March
23, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, on southbound Interstate
95
between the Cottman Avenue and Bridge Street interchanges in Philadelphia
for
soil boring operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
(PennDOT)
announced today.

In addition, northbound Richmond Street will be closed between Cambria
Street
and Ann Street on Monday, March 19, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM for overhead
viaduct construction. Northbound Richmond Street traffic will be detoured
west
on Lehigh Avenue, north on Aramingo Avenue, and east on Allegheny Avenue.

Southbound Richmond Street will be closed to through traffic between Ann
Street
and Allegheny Avenue on Monday, March 19, through Friday, March 23, from
7:00
AM to 3:30 PM, for gas line installation. Southbound Richmond Street will
be
detoured west on Allegheny Avenue, south on Aramingo Avenue, and east on
Lehigh
Avenue.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The viaduct construction is part of PennDOT's $212 million project
(I-95/GR3)
to reconstruct I-95 at the Girard Avenue Interchange.

The soil borings are engineering activities underway for the planned
reconstruction of I-95 between Bridge Street and the Betsy Ross
Bridge/Aramingo
Avenue Interchange (I-95/BSR-BRI).

The utility work is part of the reconstruction and improvement of Richmond
Street between Ann Street and Westmoreland Street, the first stage in the
larger reconstruction of I-95 between Allegheny Avenue and Frankford Creek
(I-95/AFC).
