Lane Closures Scheduled on Several State Highways for Large Sign
Maintenance in Delaware, Philadelphia, and Montgomery Counties

Lane closures are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Delaware,
Philadelphia and Montgomery counties for large sign structure maintenance,
the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, March 19, through Friday, March 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and
9:00
PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, lane closures are scheduled on
northbound
Interstate 95 between the Route 420 South (Wanamaker Avenue) and Route 291
West
(Island Avenue) interchanges in Tinicum Township, Delaware County and
Philadelphia;
• Monday, March 19, through Friday, March 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and
9:00
PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, lane closures are scheduled on
westbound
Interstate 76 between the Interstate 476 North and Route 320 interchanges
in
West Conshohocken Borough and Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County;
• Monday, March 19, through Friday, March 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and
9:00
PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, lane closures are scheduled on the
ramp
from the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Route 309 South in Upper Dublin Township,

Montgomery County;
• Monday, March 19, through Friday, March 23, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, temporary lane closures are scheduled on northbound I-95
at
the Aramingo Avenue/Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange in Philadelphia; and
• Monday, March 19, through Friday, March 23, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, lane closures are scheduled on southbound I-95 between
the
Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue and I-76 interchanges in Philadelphia.


Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is replacing and repairing large
sign
structures, including overhead signs throughout Bucks, Chester, Delaware,
Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in August 2019.

J. D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, Chester County is the general contractor on
the
$2,796,024 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
