Dunks Ferry Road Scheduled to Close for Pipe Replacement in Bensalem Township, Bucks County

​King of Prussia, PA – Dunks Ferry Road is scheduled to close between Mechanicsville Road and Knights Road in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, beginning Monday, January 7, for pipe replacement related to a project to repair and resurface 15 miles of state highway in Bucks County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The road closure will be in effect through the end of February.

During the closure, Dunks Ferry Road motorists will be detoured over Mechanicsville Road, Route 132 (Street Road), and Knights Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area. The schedule is weather dependent.

State highways completed under this resurfacing project include:

  • Kumry Road between Sleepy Hollow Road and Creamery Road in Milford Township and Trumbauersville Borough;
  • Route 563 (Ridge Road) between County Line Road and Park Avenue in West Rockhill Township and Perkasie Borough; and
  • Route 412 (Durham Road) between Route 611 (Easton Road) and Route 212 in Nockamixon and Springfield townships.

Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc., of Hilltown Township, Bucks County, is the general contractor on the $3,732,792 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
