I-95, U.S. 13, U.S. 322 Among Several State Highways Restricted for Bridge Cleaning in Delaware and Bucks Counties

​King of Prussia, PA –  Motorists will encounter weekday lane closures with flagging on several state highways including Interstate 95, U.S. 13 (Church Lane), and U.S. 322 in Delaware and Bucks counties beginning Monday, May 6, through Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for bridge cleaning, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work locations include:

  • I-95 North between the Kerlin Street and Edgemont Avenue interchanges in the City of Chester, Delaware County;
  • U.S. 13 (Church Lane) between Baltimore Avenue and Penn Street in Yeadon Borough Delaware County;
  • U.S. 322 (Conchester Road) between Route 452 (Market Street) and Bethel Avenue in Upper Chichester and Concord townships, Delaware County;
  • Route 320 (Spring Mill Road) between U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and County Line Road in Radnor Township, Delaware County;
  • Marple Road between Anthony Avenue and Darby Creek Drive in Marple Township, Delaware County;
  • Sharon Avenue between Elmwood Avenue and Woodland Avenue in Sharon Hill Borough, Delaware County;
  • Lenni Road between Station Lane and New Road in Aston Township, Delaware County;
  • State Road between Crum Creek Road and Ravenscliff Drive in Springfield Township, Delaware County;
  • Streetwater Road between Stoney Bank Road and Sweetbriar Lane in Thornbury Township, Delaware County;
  • Clifton Avenue between U.S. 13 (Chester Pike) and MacDade Boulevard in Sharon Hill Borough, Delaware County; and
  • Broad Street between Route 313 (Swamp Road) and State Street in Hilltown Township, Bucks County.

Crews will restrict travel lanes on these state highways to pressure wash and clean bridges.

Motorists are advised expect slowdowns when driving through the work areas. All activities are weather dependent.

Under this regional improvement project, PennDOT is cleaning bridges in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. The project is expected to be completed in June 2019.

Titan Industrial Services, Inc., of Baltimore, Md. is the general contractor on the $2,440,000 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
