PennDOT - District 6 News: I-95 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties

I-95 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on several state highways in Montgomery and Philadelphia counties including Interstate 95 in Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 202 between Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) and U.S. 202 (DeKalb Street) in Bridgeport Borough, Montgomery County;
  • Tuesday, May 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on Richmond Street between Castor Avenue and Wheatsheaf Lane in Philadelphia;
  • Wednesday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM left lane closure is scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Interstate 76 and Interstate 676 interchanges in Philadelphia;
  • Wednesday, May 22, and Thursday, May 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on Armand Hammer Boulevard between Industrial Highway and Medical Drive in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County; and
  • Thursday, May 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Allegheny Avenue/Castor Avenue and Cottman Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia.


The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
