I-95 Night Travel Restrictions between Cottman Avenue and Bridge Street
Interchanges

A series of nighttime travel restrictions are scheduled tonight through
early
next week on Interstate 95 for construction at the Cottman Avenue (Route
73)
Interchange in Philadelphia, where crews are preparing to remove the work
zone
and open I-95 to four through lanes in each direction between the Cottman
Avenue (Route 73) and Bridge Street interchanges, the Pennsylvania
Department
of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Friday, December 16, to Tuesday, December 20, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the

following morning, alternating northbound and southbound single and double
lane
closures will be in place on I-95 between the Academy Road and Bridge
Street
interchanges for removal of construction barriers, and eradication of
temporary
lane markings and painting of permanent lane markings in the work zone;

• Friday, December 16, to Monday, December 19, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, the Princeton Avenue on-ramp to I-95 north will be
periodically closed for barrier removal and other construction activities.
Motorists will be detoured north on State Road, then left on Linden Avenue
and
right on the ramp to I-95 north at the Academy Road Interchange. Drivers
also
may access I-95 north by going north on State Road, then right on Bleigh
Avenue
and right on Milnor Street to the spur ramp to I-95 north; and

• Friday, December 16, to Monday, December 19, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, the I-95 north off-ramp to Cottman Avenue (Route 73)
will be
closed periodically for barrier removal and construction activities.
Motorists
will be detoured north on I-95 to the exit at the Academy Road Interchange,

then right on Linden Avenue, and right on State Road to Cottman Avenue
(Route
73).

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for travel on I-95 through the work

zones. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The work is associated with the $211 million project to rebuild and improve
the
Cottman Avenue Interchange and reconstruct and widen more than one mile of
I-95
adjoining the interchange.
