U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) Weekday Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Safety Improvement Project in Delaware County

U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) Weekday Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week
for Safety Improvement Project in Delaware County

9/7/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

Weekday lane restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 1 (Township Line Road)
between
State Road and Harding Drive on Monday, September 11, through Friday,
September
15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for sign installations as part of a project to

improve travel and safety on a 3.4-mile section of U.S. 1 (Township Line
Road)
in Upper Darby and Haverford townships, Delaware County, the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The project is
scheduled to be completed in November.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
area
because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather

dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is reconfiguring the four-lane
section
of U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) to a five-lane section that includes a
center
turn lane along the corridor; resurfacing the highway from State Road to
Harding Drive, narrowing lane widths, installing radar display speed signs
and
speed limit legends at various locations to help reduce speeds; performing
tree
and bush trimming operations along the south side of U.S. 1 (Township Line
Road) between Blythe Avenue and Belfield Avenue; and installing High
Friction
Surface Treatment (HFST) on the northbound right lane of U.S. 1 (Township
Line
Road) between State Road and Arrowhead Lane to improve safety.

Allan A. Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor
on the $1,077,555 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
