U.S. 1 Daytime Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week for Overhead Bridge
Rehabilitations in Chester County

9/21/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

Right lane closures are scheduled on northbound and southbound U.S. 1
between
the Route 10 (Limestone Road) and Route 896 (Newark Road) interchanges in
Upper
Oxford and Lower Oxford townships, Chester County, on Monday, September 25,

through Friday, September 29, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for substructure
work on
the bridges carrying University Road and Township Road over U.S. 1, the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the
construction area because slowdowns will occur. The work schedule is
weather
dependent.

Within the last three weeks, PennDOT reopened the bridge carrying
University
Road over U.S. 1 in Upper Oxford Township, and started construction to
rehabilitate the structurally-deficient bridge carrying Township Road over
U.S.
1 in Lower Oxford Township.

The two structures are among 10 bridges in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery
counties that PennDOT is repairing under a $5,505,505 project financed by
Act
89, the state's transportation plan.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in October 2019.

Loftus Construction, Inc., of Cinnaminson, N.J., is the general contractor
on
the project which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
