Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Bridge Inspections in the Philadelphia Region

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, and Bucks counties for bridge
inspections,
the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, April 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on westbound Interstate 76 between the South Street and Interstate 676
interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Monday, April 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on eastbound I-76 between the South Street and 28th Street interchanges in
Philadelphia;
• Monday, April 23, and Tuesday April 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left
lane
closure is scheduled on northbound Interstate 476 between the I-76 and
Conshohocken interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough and Plymouth
Township,
Montgomery County;
• Tuesday, April 24, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on Pulaski Drive between Goddard Boulevard and Mall Boulevard in Upper
Merion
Township, Montgomery County;
• Tuesday, April 24, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on Route 320 (Chester Road) between College Avenue and Rutgers Avenue in
Swarthmore Borough, Delaware County;
• Tuesday, April 24, and Wednesday, April 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a
right
lane closure is scheduled on northbound Interstate 95 between the Island
Avenue/Valley Forge and Broad Street/Pattison Avenue interchanges in
Philadelphia;
• Thursday, April 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled in both directions on Route 309 (Sellersville Bypass) between
Bethlehem Pike and Route 113 (Main Street) in Hilltown Township, Bucks
County;
• Friday, April 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is
scheduled
on northbound I-95 between the Island Avenue/Valley Forge and Broad
Street/Pattison Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia; and
• Sunday, April 29, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on southbound I-95 between the Enterprise Avenue/Island Avenue and Bartram
Avenue/Essington Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the
structures.
