I-676 East Overnight Lane Closure Next Week for Fiber Optic Installation in
Philadelphia

6/7/2018-KING OF PRUSSIA

Eastbound Interstate 676 will be reduced from three lanes-to-two between
the
23rd Street and 8th Street interchanges in Philadelphia on Monday, June 11,

through Thursday, June 14, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning
for
installation of overhead fiber optic lines, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The fiber optic lines will be used for Intelligent Transportation Systems
(ITS)
devices that are being installed as part of PennDOT's four-year, $64.8
million
project to replace seven structurally deficient bridges over I-676 between
22nd
Street and 18th Street, and to make landscaping and streetscape
improvements
above the expressway. The project is expected to be completed later this
summer, more than a year ahead of schedule.

Buckley & Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the
project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
