I-76 Lane Closures Next Week for ITS Installation in Philadelphia and Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Single lane closures will be in place on Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in both directions at various locations between the Montgomery Drive and the Pennsylvania Turnpike interchanges in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties on Monday, May 20, through Saturday, May 25, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM for installation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) components, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. 

In addition, weekday shoulder closures will remain in place on I-76 at various locations between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Montgomery Drive from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel in the work areas because backups and slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent and subject to change. 

This work is part of the first phase of a long-range, comprehensive, multimodal transportation management plan designed to enhance travel and safety along the I-76 corridor between King of Prussia and Philadelphia. For additional details, visit www.transform76.com.
