U.S. 422 Nighttime Lane Closures Next Week for Bridge Construction in Valley Forge Area

King of Prussia, PA – U.S. 422 motorists will encounter nighttime lane closures in both directions between the Trooper Road (Route 363) and U.S. 202 interchanges in Lower Providence, West Norriton and Upper Merion townships, Montgomery County and Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, on Monday, May 20, through Thursday, May 23, for bridge railing installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work hours are:
  • 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM on westbound U.S. 422; and
  • 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM on eastbound U.S. 422.
Drivers should allow additional time for travel in the construction zone because backups and delays will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent.

The work is part of a $97.4 million project to build new, wider structures to improve travel and carry U.S. 422 motorists over the Schuylkill River, Norfolk Southern Railroad, South Trooper Road and Schuylkill River Trail.
