U.S. 202 South Lane Closure at Night Next Week for Pavement Marking Installation in Chester County

King of Prussia, PA –  Motorists on U.S. 202 in Chester County will encounter a southbound lane closure between the Route 401 (Conestoga Road) and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass interchanges in East Whiteland Township on Monday, May 20, through Thursday, May 23, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, for pavement marking installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

PennDOT's contractor is eradicating and painting new lane markings and cross-hatching and installing raised pavement markers as part of the $26.4 million project to rehabilitate the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak and replace the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from U.S. 202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass.

Motorists are advised that backups may occur at times approaching the work zone. The schedule is weather dependent.

Work is currently in the final stage of rehabilitation and re-decking on the outside half of the southbound bridge. The inside half of the bridge, as well as replacement of ramp pavement, was completed in 2018. Repairs to the northbound bridge were completed in late 2017.

Motorists are advised that backups may occur at times approaching the work zone. The schedule is weather dependent.

Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. For more information, visit www.us202-300.com.
