Whitemarsh Township is Declaring a Snow Emergency
In advance of the major winter storm hitting the region, the Township has declared a Snow Emergency effective 3 p.m. tomorrow until 3pm on Monday 2/23/2026
The National Weather Services has issued a Winter Storm Warning for tomorrow through Monday afternoon. The forecast calls for 10 to16 inches of snow and up to 40 mile per hour winds.
The Public Works Department has started preparing for the storm by brining roads and readying plowing equipment.
The Township strongly encourages residents to make their own preparations. This has the potential to be a significant storm that could cause power outages and limit travel. Please see below for suggested actions.
What Are The Steps In A Snow Emergency?
Please note the following procedures for this Snow Emergency:
• Parking on ANY street within the township shall be limited to the EVEN address side of the street.
• Within 24 hours after the cessation of snow, it is the property owner's responsibility to clear or cause to be cleared any sidewalk upon which their property borders.
• Snow or ice removed from the sidewalk shall be placed on the owner's property and may include the curbline.
• Snow or ice shall never be moved into the street from a property.
• Please see Article IV of the Whitemarsh Township Codes and Ordinances for additional information.
-- Please remove all snow from around fire hydrants while digging out to help our first responders.
