I-95 Nighttime Travel Restrictions Scheduled in Philadelphia

Nighttime travel restrictions are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 for
construction at the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) and Girard Avenue
interchanges in
Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said
today.
This work is associated with contracts to rebuild the Cottman Avenue (Route
73)
and Girard Avenue interchanges and reconstruct and widen I-95 at the
interchanges.
The work schedule is:
•On Sunday, June 26, through Thursday, June 30, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, I-95 north will be reduced from three lanes to two
between
the Bridge Street and Cottman Avenue (Route 73) interchanges for paving on
the
northbound side of I-95;
•On Sunday, June 26, through Thursday, June 30, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, the I-95 north off-ramp to Cottman Avenue (Route 73)
will be
closed for paving on the northbound side of I-95. Motorists will be
detoured
north on I-95 to the exit at the Academy Road Interchange, then right on
Linden
Avenue, and right on State Road to Cottman Avenue (Route 73);
•On Sunday, June 26, through Thursday, June 30, the Princeton Avenue
on-ramp to
I-95 north will be closed from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for
overhead bridge construction. Motorists will be detoured north on State
Road,
then left on Linden Avenue, then right on the ramp to I-95 north at the
Academy
Road Interchange; and
•On Thursday, June 30, at 10:00 PM to Friday, July 1, at 5:00 AM, the I-95
north exit ramp at the Girard Avenue Interchange will be closed for
placement
of construction barriers along the ramp. Motorists normally using this ramp
will be detoured north to the off-ramp at Allegheny Avenue, then left at
the
bottom of the ramp onto E. Westmoreland Street to Aramingo Avenue.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for travel through the work zone.

scheduled activities are weather dependent.
