Abington Township to Close Route 63 (Old Welsh Road) Weekdays for Utility
Installation

The Abington Township Municipal Authority is scheduled to close Route 63
(Old
Welsh Road) weekdays between Paper Mill Road and Huntingdon Road in
Abington
Township, Montgomery County, beginning Wednesday, October 12, from 9:00 AM
to
3:00 PM, for utility installation, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) today announced. The weekday closure of Route 63
(Old
Welsh Road) will be in effect through Friday, December 9.

During construction, Route 63 (Old Welsh Road) through traffic will be
detoured
over Edge Hill Road and Terwood Road. Local access will be maintained up to
the
construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling

through the area.

Abington Township will complete the work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy
Permit.

visiting
