PennDOT to Reopen Route 32 (River Road) Saturday Morning in Solebury
Township

10/7/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA

Route 32 (River Road) will reopen to traffic Saturday morning, October 8,
in
Solebury Township, Bucks County, marking the completion of a $3.9 million
project to improve travel and safety on the roadway by replacing a
1,300-foot-long deteriorated retaining wall and rebuilding the road in the
area
of the wall, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said
today.

PennDOT's contractor will work through tonight, October 7, and into
tomorrow
morning to complete final paving, install guiderail and paint traffic
lines.

PennDOT restored the structural stability of Route 32 (River Road) between
the
intersections of Paxson Road and Laurel Road by building a new retaining
wall
made of concrete panels and steel piles to replace the existing wall, which
was
severely damaged by several flooding storms. In addition, crews
reconstructed
and resurfaced 1,450 feet of Route 32 (River Road); improved drainage by
installing 24 new storm inlets and more than 1,200 feet of storm sewers;
replaced two existing drain pipes; constructed four storm water outlets;
installed curb along the retaining wall; and added new guide rail and
traffic
signs.

H & K Group, Inc., of Skippack, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor on
the $3,960,852 project. This transportation improvement project is financed

with 100 percent state funds.
