I-95 South Overnight Lane Closures Planned Next Week for Lighting
Installation in Center City Philadelphia

Southbound Interstate 95 motorists will encounter right and left lane
closures
at night next week from just south of the Interstate 676/Callowhill (Exit
22)
Interchange to just north of the Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit
20)
Interchange in Philadelphia, for lighting installation, the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, June 11, and Tuesday, June 12, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the right

lane and shoulder on southbound I-95 will be closed; and
• Tuesday, June 12, through Friday, June 15, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the
left
lane and shoulder on southbound I-95 will be closed.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on southbound I-95

through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled
activities are weather dependent.

The work is part of a PennDOT project to install a new underpass lighting
system in the covered section of I-95 near Dock Street and reconstruct five

pump stations in Philadelphia and Bristol Township, Bucks County. All work
is
scheduled to be completed by December 2019.

PKF-Mark III, Inc. of Newtown, Bucks County is the general contractor on
the
$29,884,795 improvement project which is financed with 100 percent federal
funds.
