I-95 South On Ramp From Allegheny Avenue, Off-Ramp to Girard Avenue Closed Tonight for Barrier Repair in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA — The on-ramp from Allegheny Avenue to southbound Interstate 95 and the off-ramp from southbound I-95 to Girard Avenue in Philadelphia will be closed tonight from 7:00 PM to Midnight for barrier repairs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.
During the closure, motorists normally entering southbound I-95 at Allegheny Avenue or exiting southbound I-95 at Girard Avenue will be detoured west on Allegheny Avenue and south on Aramingo Avenue to the Girard Avenue Interchange for access to Girard Avenue or the ramp to southbound I-95.
Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel on southbound I-95 in the work area because backups and slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.
The work is part of the $312 million project to replace the southbound I-95 viaduct between Palmer Street in Fishtown and Ann Street in Port Richmond, part of the reconstruction of 1.5 miles of southbound I-95 between the Girard Avenue and Allegheny Avenue interchanges.
James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
