U.S. 1 Lane Closures Scheduled Thursday for ITS Camera Maintenance in Bucks and Philadelphia Counties

​King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane closures on U.S. 1 in Bucks and Philadelphia counties on Thursday, February 28, for Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) camera maintenance, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Northbound U.S. 1 between Rock Hill Drive and Business U.S. 1 in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM; and 
  • Southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between 9th Street and Broad Street in Philadelphia, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
This work is part of a $3,808,056 project to maintain, repair and upgrade ITS systems across the five-county Philadelphia region.

Kuharchik Construction, Inc. of Exeter, Pa. is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 100 percent state dollars.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 860 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
