I-95 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties
King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled on several state highways in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties next week, including Interstate 95, for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, January 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Righters Ferry Road between Monument Road and Norfolk Southern Railroad in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County;
- Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on I-95 between Packer Avenue/Walt Whitman Bridge and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia;
- Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, on Bridge Street between James Street and Ramsay Road in Philadelphia;
- Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, on Tacony Street between Fraley Street and Aramingo Avenue in Philadelphia; and
- Friday, January 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Neill Drive between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Falls Road in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
