PennDOT - District 6 News: I-95, Front Street and Tacony Street Lane Closures Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

I-95, Front Street and Tacony Street Lane Closures Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled on several state highways in Philadelphia next week, including Interstate 95, for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, January 6, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in both directions on I-95 between Interstate 676 and Route 73 (Cottman Avenue) interchanges;
  • Monday, January 6, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Front Street between Ellen Street and Laurel Street;
  • Tuesday, January 7, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in both directions on I-95 between Allegheny Avenue and Aramingo Avenue interchanges;
  • Wednesday, January 8, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in both directions on I-95 between Bridge Street and Cottman Avenue interchanges;
  • Thursday, January 9 and Friday, January 10, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, on Tacony Street between Fraley Street and Aramingo Avenue; and
  • Friday, January 10, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, on Tacony Street between Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
