I-76 Travel Restrictions Scheduled in Philadelphia for Bridge Inspections

Travel restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 76 in Philadelphia over the

next week for a series of bridge inspections in the Philadelphia region,
the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.

Weather permitting, the bridge inspection schedule is:

• On Tuesday, May 10 and Wednesday, May 11, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the
right
lane will be closed on eastbound I-76 will be closed between Spring Garden
Street and 28th Street; and
• On Tuesday, May 10 and Wednesday, May 11, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the
right
lane will be closed on westbound I-76 will be closed between University
Avenue
and South Street.

I-7t6 motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel where the
inspections take place. The inspection schedules are dependent on the
weather.

The bridge inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect state
bridges
at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and
overall
condition of the structures.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.

devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts
accessible
on the 511PA website.
