I-95, I-476 and Route 29 Lane Restrictions Scheduled for Bridge Inspections
in Philadelphia and Montgomery County

Travel restrictions are scheduled this week for bridge inspections on
Interstate 95, Interstate 476 and Route 29 in Philadelphia and Montgomery
County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced
today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, August 14, through Wednesday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
lane closures are scheduled on northbound I-476 between the I-76 and
Conshohocken interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County;
• Monday, August 14, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on northbound I-95 between the Bridge Street/Harbison Avenue and Cottman
Avenue/Rhawn Street interchanges;
• Monday, August 14, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on southbound I-95 between the Cottman Avenue/Rhawn Street and Bridge
Street/Harbison Avenue interchanges;
• Tuesday, August 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on southbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue and
Walt
Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue
and
Interstate 676/Callowhill Street interchanges;
• Thursday, August 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on southbound I-95 between the Interstate 676/Callowhill Street and Walt
Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue interchanges;
• Thursday, August 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is
scheduled on southbound I-476 between the Conshohocken and I-76
interchanges in
West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County; and
• Friday, August 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on Route 29 (Gravel Pike) between Memorial Drive and Delphi Road in Lower
Frederick Township, Montgomery County.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur. The schedules are dependent on the weather.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of
the
structures.
