Erie Avenue Daytime and Nighttime Lane Restrictions Scheduled for Line Striping Operations in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – Daytime and nighttime lane restrictions are scheduled in both directions on Erie Avenue between U.S. 13 (Hunting Park Avenue) and Kensington Avenue on Monday, July 16, through Friday, July 20, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, for line striping, as part of a project to repair and resurface 20 miles of state highway in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.
State highways completed under this resurfacing project include:
• Knights Road between U.S. 13 (Frankford Avenue) and the bridge over Poquessing Creek;
• Academy Road between Knights Road and the Interstate 95 Interchange; and
• Chew Avenue/Olney Avenue between Mount Airy Avenue and Broad Street (Route 611).
Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
James J. Anderson Construction Co., Inc., of Philadelphia, is the general contractor on the $7,196,303 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in fall 2018.
