I-95 South Overnight Lane Closures Next Week for Resurfacing Operations in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Double lane closures are scheduled on southbound Interstate 95 from just south of the Cottman Avenue Interchange to the Allegheny Avenue Interchange on Monday, July 23, through Friday, July 27, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, for construction activities on a project to repair and resurface deteriorated sections on a seven-mile portion of northbound and southbound I-95 between Cottman Avenue and Interstate 676 in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The resurfacing operations on I-95 are expected to be completed in October.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 in the work area because backups and delays will occur during construction. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The work on I-95 was added to a recent contract to repair and resurface 12 miles of the outer, local lanes of U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between 9th Street and the Bucks County line. Construction on that project finished in November 2017.

H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the $11 million project which is financed with 100 percent state funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
