Chichester Avenue Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Utility Improvements in Delaware County

King of Prussia, PA – Lane restrictions are scheduled on Chichester Avenue between Route 452 (Market Street) and Concord Road in Bethel, Upper Chichester, and Lower Chichester townships, Delaware County, on Monday, November 19, through Wednesday, November 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for utility improvements, as a part of a project to repair and resurface more than 11 miles of state highway in Delaware County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.

Additional state highway scheduled for resurfacing under this contract include:

  • Foulk Road between U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) and Concord Road in Bethel Township;
  • Ridge Road between the Delaware State line and U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) in Concord and Chadds Ford townships;
  • Ring Road between Ridge Road and U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) in Chadds Ford Township;
  • Harvey Road between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Oakland Road in Chadds Ford Township; and
  • Pyle Road between U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) and Route 491 (Naamans Creek Road) in Bethel Township.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill the existing roadway surface and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Allan Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the $2,757,777 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in December 2018.
