I-76 West Ramp to Conshohocken to Close Overnights Next Week for Barrier Repair in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – The ramp from Interstate 76 West to Conshohocken (Route 23) will be closed on Monday, November 12, through Thursday, November 15, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM for barrier repair as part of a project to repair and resurface 12.5 miles of I-76 in Upper Merion Township, West Conshohocken Borough and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

During the overnight closure, motorists will be directed to continue west on I-76, exit at Gulph Mills (Route 320), and turn right onto Trinity Road/Holstein Road/Swedeland Road to access eastbound Route 23.
In addition to the ramp closure, periodic single lane closures are planned on I-76 in both directions between the U.S. 202 and U.S. 1 (City Avenue) interchanges on Sunday, November 11, through Thursday, November 15, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and Friday, November 16, and Saturday, November 17, from 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and rehabilitating existing pavement; performing base repairs; installing new guide rail; repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs, two overhead sign structures and numerous expansion joints on three structures; and installing rumble strips, delineators and new mileage markers along the four-lane section of I-76.

The resurfacing of mainline I-76 in Montgomery County was completed in October 2017, while work on the entire project will finish this year.

J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County is the general contractor on the $24.7 million project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
