Daytime and Nighttime Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Resurfacing Operations in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Daytime and nighttime lane restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways as a part of a project to repair and resurface 18 miles of state highway in Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Sunday, November 4, and Monday, November 5, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Camp Road between Morwood Road and Route 563 (Ridge Road) in Salford and Franconia townships, for paving operations;
  • Monday, November 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Haldeman Road from just east of Garges Road to Salfordville Road in Lower Salford Township, for base repair;
  • Monday, November 5, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Souder Road between Schoolhouse Road and Allentown Road in Franconia Township, for paving operations; and
  • Tuesday, November 6, through Friday, November 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Schoolhouse Road between Wambold Road and Morwood Road in Lower Salford and Franconia townships, for paving operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.

Additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract include:

  • Spring Mount Road between Schwenksville Road and Perkiomen Creek Bridge in Upper Salford and Lower Frederick townships;
  • Eagleville Road between Park Avenue and Ridge Pike in Lower Providence Township;
  • Hill Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Hill Road/Hanover Township line in Upper Frederick and Marlborough townships;
  • Wentlings Schoolhouse Road/Jacobs Saw Mill Road from just south of Paper Mill Road to Kutztown Road in Upper Hanover Township;
  • Hill Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Hill Road/Hanover Township line in Upper Frederick and Marlborough townships; and
  • Hanover Street between the Chester County line and the Pottstown Borough line in Pottstown Borough.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill the existing roadway surface and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Allan Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the $3,269,876 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in December 2018.
