I-95 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Delaware Counties
King of Prussia, PA – Lane restrictions are scheduled on several state highways in Philadelphia and Delaware counties next week including Interstate 95 for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, November 12, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Industrial Highway between Route 291 (Bartram Avenue) and International Plaza Drive in Tinicum Township, Delaware County;
- Monday, November 12, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Philadelphia International Airport and Route 420 interchanges in Philadelphia;
Tuesday, November 13, and Wednesday, November 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the ramp to northbound I-95 from eastbound Interstate 676 in Philadelphia will be reduced to one lane; - Wednesday, November 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Island Avenue and Broad Street (Route 611) interchanges in Philadelphia;
- Thursday, November 15, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between Philadelphia International Airport and Route 420 interchanges in Philadlephia; and
- Thursday, November 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Philadelphia International Airport and Route 291 (Bartram Avenue) interchanges in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
