I-95 Lane Closures at Night Next Week for Resurfacing, Bridge Repair in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Interstate 95 motorists will encounter lane closures at night next week in both directions between Broad Street (Route 611) and Levick Street in Philadelphia for line striping, bridge repair and pavement marking installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:
  • Monday, November 12, through Friday, November 16, from 7:30 PM to 5:00 AM, moving lane closures on northbound and southbound I-95 between Washington Avenue and Broad Street (Raoute 611) for line striping;
  • Monday, November 12, through Friday, November 16, from 7:30 PM to 5:00 AM, moving lane closures on northbound and southbound I-95 between Race Street and the Betsy Ross Bridge for line striping; and
  • Monday, November 12, through Friday, November 16, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and Saturday, November 17, from 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM, lane closures on northbound and southbound I-95 between Richmond Street and Levick Street for bridge repair and pavement marking installation.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled operations are weather dependent and subject to change.

This project is part of the governor's Resurface PA initiative, an aggressive campaign launched by PennDOT to accelerate repaving interstates and attacking potholes across the state's 40,000 miles of PennDOT-maintained roads, the nation's fifth largest such system.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
