PennDOT - District 6 News: I-76 Restricted at U.S. 1 (City Avenue) Interchanges Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

I-76 Restricted at U.S. 1 (City Avenue) Interchanges Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Lane restrictions will be in place on eastbound and westbound Interstate 76 at the U.S. 1 (City Avenue) interchanges next week, as well as on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, January 28, on eastbound Interstate 76 at the U.S. 1 (City Avenue) Interchange in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County;
  • Monday, January 28 and Tuesday, January 29, on southbound U.S. 1 (City Avenue) between Ridge Avenue and I-76 in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County and Philadelphia; and
  • Tuesday, January 29, on westbound Interstate 76 at the U.S. 1 (City Avenue) Interchange in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
