I-95 Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

​King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, August 19, and Tuesday, August 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue and Interstate 676 interchanges;
  • Friday, August 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the I-76 and Broad Street interchanges; and
  • Saturday, August 24, and Sunday, August 25, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the I-76 and Broad Street interchanges.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
