PennDOT to Repair and Resurface More Than 10 State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

Chester County

  • Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 9, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 30 between Reeceville Road and Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue) in Caln and East Caln townships and Downington Borough for milling operations; and
  • Tuesday, August 6, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 82 (Manor Road) between Hibernia Road and Chestnut Street in West Nantmeal and West Brandywine townships and Elverson Borough for paving operations.

Delaware County

  • Sunday, August 4, through Friday, August 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) between Concord Country Club Road and Dilworthtown Road in Chadds Ford Township for milling and paving operations;
  • Sunday, August 4, through Friday, August 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on East Darby Road between Darby Road and Eagle Road in Haverford Township for milling and paving operations;
  • Sunday, August 4, through Friday, August 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Darby Road between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Haverford and Darby townships and Lansdowne Borough for milling and paving operations; and
  • Sunday, August 4, through Friday, August 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Lansdowne Avenue between Garrett Road Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Upper Darby and Haverford townships for milling and paving operations.

Montgomery County

  • •unday, August 4, through Friday, August 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 363 (Trooper Road) between Audubon Road and Germantown Pike in Worcester, Lower Providence and West Norriton townships for milling, paving and utility adjustments; and
  • Thursday, August 8, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Red Lion Road between Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) and Route 63 (Philmont Avenue) in Lower Moreland Township for paving operations.

Philadelphia County

  • Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 9, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on the ramps between City Avenue, Lincoln Drive, and Ridge Avenue for milling and paving operations;
  • Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 9, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM lane restrictions are scheduled on Upsal Street between Route 309 (Cheltenham Avenue) and Germantown Avenue for milling and paving operations;
  • Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 9, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Adams Avenue between Rising Sun Avenue and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) for milling operations;
  • Tuesday, August 6, through Thursday, August 8, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Levick Street between State Road and Rising Sun Avenue for milling operations; and
  • Wednesday, August 7, through Friday, August 9, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Torresdale Avenue between Kensington Avenue and Linden Avenue for milling operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
