PennDOT to Repair and Resurface More Than 10 State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region

​King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

Chester County

  • Tuesday, September 3, through Friday, September 6, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 30 between Reeceville Road and Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue) in Caln and East Caln townships and Downington Borough for paving operations.

Delaware County

  • Tuesday, September 3, through Saturday, September 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) between Concord Country Club Road and Dilworthtown Road in Chadds Ford Township for milling and paving operations;
  • Tuesday, September 3, through Saturday, September 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 352 (Middletown Road) between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Van Leer Avenue in Middletown Township for milling and paving operations;
  • Tuesday, September 3, through Saturday, September 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Providence Road/Edgmont Avenue between Avondale Road and Route 291 (Fourth Street) in Nether Providence Township and the City of Chester; and
  • Tuesday, September 3, through Saturday, September 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Lansdowne Avenue between Garrett Road and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Upper Darby and Haverford townships for milling and paving operations.

Montgomery County

  • Tuesday, September 3, through Friday, September 6, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Trooper Road and Egypt Road interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships for road sealing; and
  • Tuesday, September 3, through Saturday, September 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Perkiomenville Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Route 73 (Big Road) in Upper Fredrick Township for milling and paving operations.

Philadelphia County

  • Monday, September 3, through Friday, September 6, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane closures are scheduled on the ramps from U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) to Henry Avenue and Broad Street/Wissahickon Avenue for milling and paving operations;
  • Monday, September 3, through Friday, September 6, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Levick Street at New State Road for island replacement;
  • Monday, September 3, through Friday, September 6, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Torresdale Avenue between Kensington Avenue and Linden Avenue for paving operations; and
  • Monday, September 3, through Friday, September 6, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Lindbergh Boulevard between 63rd Street and Elmwood Avenue for paving operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
