Southbound Aramingo Avenue to Close Periodically Next Week for Construction at I-95 Girard Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA — Southbound Aramingo Avenue at the Interstate 95 Girard Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia will be closed periodically and detoured on Monday, August 26, through Friday, August 30, from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for retaining wall construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

During the closure, southbound Aramingo Avenue traffic will be detoured west on Girard Avenue and left on Frankford Avenue to Delaware Avenue. All scheduled activities are subject to change depending on weather conditions.

The work is part of the $312 million project currently underway through 2023 to replace the southbound I-95 viaduct between Palmer Street in Fishtown and Ann Street in Port Richmond, reconstruct and improve the southbound on and off-ramps at Girard Avenue, and rebuild the southbound I-95 pavement between Ann Street and Allegheny Avenue.
