U.S. 422 East, Airport Road Lane Closures Next Week for Construction in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove Townships

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on eastbound U.S. 422 and Airport Road for pavement and joint repair and bridge construction under a project to rehabilitate and improve a five-mile section of U.S. 422 between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Weather permitting, the work schedule is:
  • Monday, August 19, through Friday, August 23, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the left lane and shoulder will close between Park Road and Township Line Road for pavement and joint repair and construction on the bridge that carries the expressway over Lewis Road; and
  • Wednesday, August 21, through Saturday, August 24, from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions with flagging will occur on Airport Road between Lightcap Road and Industrial Drive for construction on the bridge that carries the highway over U.S. 422.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur.

H & K Group Inc. of Skippack, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $17,874,021 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in summer 2021.
