PennDOT to Repair and Resurface More Than 20 State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region

​King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

Bucks County

  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Allentown Road between Finland Road and Schukraft Road in West Rockhill Township for resurfacing operations.

Chester County

  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 30 between Reeceville Road and Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue) in Caln and East Caln townships and Downington Borough for milling operations;
  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Route 926 (Street Road) between Powderhorn Drive and Route 352 (Chester Road) in Westtown Township for high friction surface treatment; and
  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Surgarsbridge Road between Telegraph Road and U.S. 322 (Downingtown Pike) in West Bradford Township for resurfacing operations.

Delaware County

  • Sunday, August 11, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) between Concord Country Club Road and Dilworthtown Road in Chadds Ford Township for milling and paving operations;
  • Sunday, August 11, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on East Darby Road between Darby Road and Eagle Road in Haverford Township for milling and paving operations;
  • Sunday, August 11, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Darby Road between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Haverford and Darby townships and Lansdowne Borough for milling and paving operations;
  • Sunday, August 11, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Lansdowne Avenue between Garrett Road Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Upper Darby and Haverford townships for milling and paving operations; and
  • Wednesday, August 14, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Baltimore Pike between Jackson Street and Burmont Road/Scottdale Road in Clifton Heights and Lansdowne boroughs for milling and paving operations.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, August 11, through Tuesday, August 13, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Red Lion Road between Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) and Route 63 (Philmont Avenue) in Lower Moreland Township for paving operations;
  • Monday, August 12, and Tuesday, August 13, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Ridge Pike between Germantown Pike and Rout 29 (First Avenue) in Lower Providence Township and Collegeville Borough for milling and paving operations;
  • Monday, August 12, through Thursday, August 15, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Byberry Road between Philmont Avenue and Reading Way for in Lower Moreland Township for paving operations;
  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Schwenksville Road between Pennypacker Road and Hefflin Road in Schwenksville Borough for high friction surface treatment;
  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Orvilla Road between Maple Avenue and Cowpath Road in Hatfield Township for high friction surface treatment;
  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Camp Hill Road between Valley Green Road and Route 73 (Bethlehem Pike) in Whitemarsh Township for high friction surface treatment;
  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Flourtown Road between Thomas Road and Fountain Green Road in Whitemarsh Township for high friction surface treatment; and
  • Wednesday, August 14, and Thursday, August 15, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) between Tennis Avenue and County Line Road in Horsham and Montgomery townships for resurfacing operations.

Philadelphia County

  • Monday, August 12, and Tuesday, August 13, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on the ramps between City Avenue, Lincoln Drive, and Ridge Avenue for milling and paving operations;
  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Linden Avenue between Academy Road and the Interstate 95 Interchange for resurfacing operations;
  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Torresdale Avenue between Kensington Avenue and Linden Avenue for milling operations;
  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Adams Avenue between Rising Sun Avenue and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) for milling operations;
  • Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Levick Street between State Road and Rising Sun Avenue for milling operations;
  • Tuesday, August 13, through Friday, August 16, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are secluded on Upsal Street between Route 309 (Cheltenham Avenue) and Germantown Pike for paving operations;
  • Thursday, August 15, and Friday, August 16, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Lindbergh Boulevard between 63rd Street and Elmwood Avenue for milling operations; and
  • Thursday, August 15, and Friday, August 16, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on the ramps from U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) to Henry Avenue and Broad Street/Wissahickon Avenue for milling and paving operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
