PennDOT to Improve Drainage on Two Roads in Plumstead Township

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, July 18, to improve drainage
along
Stump Road and Danboro-Point Pleasant Pike in Plumstead Township, Bucks
County,
the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.

PennDOT's contactor will replace deteriorated drainage pipes and clean
drainage
ditch lines on each roadway. Several property owners will be required to
reimburse the department for the installation or replacement of their
driveway
drainage pipes. Pennsylvania regulation requires property owners to
maintain a
minimum of a 15-inch diameter pipe. Construction will be performed under
traffic and flaggers will control travel through the work zones.

Crew will work the next two weeks on Danboro-Point Pleasant Pike between
Burnt
House Hill Road and Old Easton Road. PennDOT's contractor will work
weekdays
from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Once the contractor completes construction on Danboro-Point Pleasant Pike,
crew
will move to work on Stump Road between Route 611 (Easton Road) and Route
413.
This drainage improvement project is a collaborative effort between
PennDOT,
Plumstead Township, Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority, and the Central

Bucks School District.

Road-Con, Inc., of West Chester, Chester County is the general contractor
on
the $438,453 project, Construction is expected to finish in mid-September.
The
project is financed with 100 percent state funds.
